About CBI
|
|
Crossroad Bible Institute was founded in 1984
with a deep desire to
disciple prison inmates as Christ calls the church to do. Due to the
increasing mobility of today's rapidly expanding prison population, a
program was needed that an inmate could begin and complete even when
transferred to other facilities, or released. CBI's program soon caught
on like wild-fire and is today the largest of its kind in the world.
Trained instructors disciple inmates in prisons everywhere with solid
biblical truths, personal letters of encouragement and an abidibg love
for God's people in prison.
CBI offers non-demominational designed correspondence Bible studies for prison inmates. CBI was introduced into Australia from America in 2002. In that year the instructors marked 27 lessons. In 2008 our instructors marked 3,960 lessons. Our instructors come from 10 different Protestant denominations and from all states and territories of Australia. Our instructors see the inmates as a child of God not a criminal. Currently there are 30,000 inmates held in Australian correctional centres. 85% of these men and women will be released. The unfortunate statistic is that 75% of these released ex-inmates will reoffend within 5 years and be back behind bars. But for those who have been discipled to while in prison the reoffending rate drops to a staggering 14%. CBI is an amazing ministry because it presents the truth of God's love for His people, the truth of the Bible and the truth of Jesus Christ and His sacrifice for all of us which includes prison inmates. CBI is a purely faith ministry which is supported financially by many churches and individuals. If you feel inspired to support this most worthwhile of ministries you can do so by the following means: |

Mission Growth of CBI
|
|
|
In
2005 CBI Australia introduced the study material into prisons in New
Zealand.
In 2006 CBI Australia introduced the study material into prisons in the Solomon Islands. In 2007 CBI Australia introduced the study material into prisons in Fiji. In 2009 CBI Australia introduced the study material into prisons in Tonga and Vanuatu. The opportunities for the expansion of CBI and His word into prisons in overseas nations are immense. But like every ministry we are restricted by finances. |

CBI Statement of Faith
|
|
Crossroad
Bible Institute subscribes to the historic Christian faith:
What we believe concerning Scripture We hold the Bible to be the Word of God, the only infallible rule for faith and practice and our ultimate point of reference. (Hebrews 4:12) What we believe concerning Christ We maintain that Jesus Christ is to be trusted for salvation. There is no salvation outside of Christ. (Acts 4:12) What we believe concerning Grace We believe that the absolute sovereign grace of God in Christ is the ground of our salvation. (Ephesians 2:4-5) What we believe concerning Faith We declare that salvation is by grace, through faith and not by works. (Ephesians 2:8-9) What we believe concerning the Glory of God We seek to glorify our Triune God in all of life. We believe that untimately all things must work together to bring glory to God alone. (Jude 25) |

"God bless you all at CBI. Your help in this
course has been priceless
to me in my relationship with Jesus. Your letters of encouragement I
will never forget. I pray that God will bless you as this course has
blessed me. Amen!"
CBI Student, Carlos - NSW "A very big thank you for all of the lessons. They have been a big help in my life and I know they will help others to know more about God, the Lord, and so much more. Thank you." CBI Student - NZ "This has been one of the most important lessons I have completed so far and very much enjoyed. There is much more to the lesson and yet so precise. Everything I have studied I know will in the future be used for the glory of God." CBI Student, Otto - WA "I really enjoyed this study. It has become part of my daily routine. I would very much love to continue my studies and start on the next course. My faith in the Lord has been such a strength to me and the daily Bible studies show me many things. They always seem to be on a topic that I need to work on in my life. God does work in many mysterious ways!" CBI Student, Frank - Vic "Thank you very much for your lessons and encouraging letters with each corrected lesson. I feel the love of Jesus through all of them and pray that this ministry will lead to a revival in Australian prisons." CBI Student, Thomas - SA "I'd like to thank my instructors for their letters of encouragement. The letters certainly make the studies a more personal experience. Thank You." CBI Student, Jon - NSW "I thank you heavenly Father that He helped me go through all fourteen lessons of this course. I also thank Him for the knowledge and wisdom that He gave me. Now I have fourteen reasons to be more joyful, happy and closer to God, our Father and Lord Jesus Christ. I also want to thank all of you, my dealy beloved brothers and sisters, who helped me, encouraged me and loved me so much. I can't wait to go on to the next level of study." CBI Student, Alex - QLD |
